QUEENSRŸCHE Fans Slam Journalist Over Concert Review
September 2, 2006Jonathan Foerster of the Naples Daily News reports:
On Sunday [August 27] I went to Fort Myers [Florida] to see QUEENSRŸCHE perform an ambitious concert, combining their rock operas "Operation: Mindcrime" and "Operation: Mindcrime II" back to back, complete with videos, props and actors.
Going in, I was interested in how the band would meld theater and metal. I left less than impressed.
On Tuesday, my review was published in this section. The gist of it: The show would have been a lot better if they’d just played the music and not tried the Charlton Heston shtick.
Not surprisingly, QUEENSRŸCHE fans came out of the woodwork in cyberspace to tell me that I'm an idiot, among a lot of not-so-nice and not-so-printable things on various Web sites. Luckily, none of it was restraining-order worthy.
Some of the critiques were valid, others not so much.
